Been playing around with 3dCoat.........you can do a lot with the program. UV mapping is basically a one button operation, then you paint directly on the model. My first attempt is below............

What kind of UVmaps do you get out of it? Anything that can be edited in Photoshop later, or is it an undecipherable mess?
