I guess I haven't been paying attention to what the TV industry has been doing. I have been aware of HDRI for some time but I just today learned about HDR TV. I suppose this was the next step after going to 4K. I just saw a 55" smart TCL Roku 4K TV at Walmart for $428. That one was not HDR-compatible. 4K it is getting to be very inexpensive and I suppose there is now a lot of 4K content. I feel like I am Rip Van Winkle (Perhaps Europeans aren't familiar with this popular fairytale as it is American).

Having moved somewhere where my 32" TV feels like it's not just the other side of my lounge but actually the neighbour's lounge, I may be due an upgrade. Interesting how things have progressed in the past 5 years or so since I bought that model. 10-bit monitors have been kicking around for quite some time now so it's nice to see HDR TVs winding their way into the home at last.
