After seeing so many wonderful renders, I had to try to vary shading on my leaves too.
I have a simple set up here....Suggestions welcome.
Thankyou WASasquatch for your post examples also!

See correction! Thanks @ Dune!

Dune

This is not the right way, you have to exchange the compute normal for a transform shader and check world position.

Oh I see! Big big big difference! Thanks! I will really work on these now!
Is that how the clip file (blue node type) for this should hook up as well?

This just might be (sort of) an answer I was looking for on how to make snow-covered trees. Good I found this topic. ;)

Snow on trees, simpel way: just add a (white or whatever) surface shader between (leaf/trunk) parts and default shader, and set slope (final and use Y). You can also set altitude, and break it up by the breakup input (mod the shader). If patches are needed, you should use a masking PF with a transform shader set to world position.

I'll try that. At first I was trying to populate some tiny white rocks onto tree objects but that didn't go well - for some reason you cannot put population onto another population... Strange because, no matter how big, a given population uses just one object. :-\ It can be done on single objects though...

A while back there was someone (forgot who) who doubled the exact (!) population and raised the object in one just slightly, and made it completely white... that may suit your needs as well.

Thanks for the help Dune!
I have seen posts by Frank B and DandelO about snow and frost. Excellent renders.
I have downloaded a shared clip file by someone else, tree snow tgc. (I forgot to save the bookmark for it) and can't share w/o credit to author.

N-drju when I am puzzled, I do as you did and ask either here in image sharing or Terragen Discussion. I saw your question, but I have little expertise in such things, so I did not reply. I am trying to figure out how to share the link with you for some examples I saw, but search either by subject or author, usually gives very good examples.
