Some more experiments with squarish rocks. None uses a compute terrain, and some not even a compute normal, or XYZ shader. With the warp shader you can do a lot. They're not perfect, not at all. I often think that rendering a crop it looks very good, but rendering the whole thing it gets a bit contrived/artificial. I think more diversity in rock structure is needed. Like bands of squarish rock in between bulbous, or porous stone. Enough to invent still......

Btw. the beach is no EasyBeach, but another mix of nodes. Not as efficient.

Rumburak

Not perfect, but still very good results. PRocks_13-12-16-v4-v2.jpg is my favourite. I really like the rocks in that one.

My personal favorite is the one with that beautyful translucency of the palm trees

Are these modeled after specific locations?  3rd image seems familiar (maybe it's the red cliffs?)

something borrowed,
something Blue.

No specific location, just some testing on rock, and I threw some palms in.

Great rock surfaces, I especially like the first and the last. The possibilities are endless.
