Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all of you!  :)
Go on being creative stay healthy and have nice days.

Here the last animation renders for this year are on their way.
Just as a little Christmas surprise I'll discover the secret of one older teaser for you... the secret who is "The Black Helmet"  ;)

Some frames may be known...
It starts here:

But who is that???
Here we go  ;)  :

[attach=3]

[attach=4]

Communicator voice: "Richard, you better use the "VIPER"!"

[attach=5]

(unfortunately the following will be not in the animation - bad viper model and 4-5 h rendertime per frame)

[attach=6]

Communicator voice: "Ahääm - Mister Riddick - the OTHER  "VIPER"!"

That's riddickulous.   ;)
Always had the suspect that these Vipers needed some Diesel to fly.
Sorry for the cheap jokes, couldn't resist. ;D

Seasonal greetings.

I was so unsatified with "Riddick" and the Viper RT 10 in the Teaser, that I went back to the lab...

Vin Diesel got another surface layer with an additional bump map and some reflection.
The glowing eyes didn't work in daylight as they did in the dark scenes of "Pitch Black" so I gave him back his glasses.
I just merged some cylinders in wings 3D for the glasses  8)

And I changed the free Viper RT10 by a not really cheap Turbosquid model. But I think both effords were worth it.

After I reduced the extreme DoF the close view rendered in only 10% of the time of the old version!

Much better. I found the eyes a bit strange too, alien. You probably need a little more GISD to get shadows under the wheels. And dirt?

Thank you :)

Ulco, you're right.

I think this year I will spend many time to do some detail work... and re-rendering some scenes if the (time) effort is not too big
