The lens flare is done in post so good call about the focus, hmm is the light source creating the lens flare or the lens looking at the light source ... I shall investigate further.
The grass clump does look like its floating I agree. I think it's because the sand grains spec and translucancy settings are stopping them recieving shadows propperly.

I think they're the product of the added lens flare if it's in the post processed on Ulco
