Hi,
that´s the image I consider my best at the moment.
I added a Lambert shader for "translucency" , but I am not sure whether it improves the impression.
What do you think?

Without Lambert:

With Lambert:

I also increased the blueskye density.
And yes, I know the snow looks like whipped cream ;)

I'd say use the Lambert, it gives the underside of the ice a much softer look, especially at the edges.

With... and in the Enviro light node, give the colour on surfaces a similar colour to the blue sky density colour (Atmosphere node)... or a greener tint to match your ice... GI amount at least 2, GI detail at least 3. That will add some more colour to the shaded regions which will make the colours on the right look more natural

Looking good so far.  :)

Thanks to all of you!

@Moodflow: Glad you like it!
I also tried  your "Frozen" clip on it, but it made it look to small.
It´s brillant for ice layers on rock, not for massive ice like mine here I think.

@ Bigben:
You are right, the enviro- color doesn´t look right.
Although it is exactly the same as the blueskye, my blueskye is changed.
I hoped for some interesting contrast between a less green skye and the ice, but it makes the image less realistic.
As for higher  GI- settings I will have to wait till I got a faster Computer. its 2/2 at the moment and already took its time.

Nice.  I like the Lambert version...and hope for transparency.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

In some parts definitely an improvement, in ohers there are some strange contrasts now.
Maybe I´ll simply photoshop the best parts of each version together, until there is real translucency.

Jan

Here I go again.
We got transparency, my girlfriend was so friendly to let me render it on her new computer.
I´m not sure if it is better, but it is transparent!!
I didn´t change the snow, still it looks less snowy

Best Regards,
Jan

Oooh, I like the ice.  A little more transparency around the edges and some roughness to the snow would both lead me to call this finished.  I like your choice of colors and the light looks good.

very interesting textures here.... I agree with calico in that the snow could do with not being so smooth, other than that great image.
cheers, Simon.
I just need to tweak that texture a bit more...

The snow could use some wind erosion; ripples (?) The green ice is great.
