I made for a contest a canyon.
I am very proud of my sand  :D
I needed about 47h for rendering on my AMD X2 4200+.
The soft shadows needed about 12h more vor rendering (I also rendered a version without soft shadows -> 35h for rendering).

Seth

amazing view ! i love your sand and the "fog" effect... it just looks like real sand blow by the wind ! marvelous !

nvseal

Wow. This is really great. :o You need to get it rendered at a higher res. Great job and keep this stuff coming.

dhavalmistry

this is really nice....I like the sand blowing in the wind effect...although the rock wall on the left could use more work....I look forward to seeing how you did this....

Thanks :)
I have only the free version.
I will buy the deep during the next month.
And when I have the deep the render would take for rendering in high-res a week.

I made this canyon with the help of a tutorial. I tried to fix this "blank" wall but it is to hard to me.

I like this a lot.  Good terrain and good lighting.  Is that a duststorm down below?
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

The sand is great and the blowing sand is an excellent idea.

overlordchuck

Really, really nice.  Good job.

Thanks for the sand

Lucky is good

Owning up to getting lucky is something special.
Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.

I like the way the light comes into the canyon to illuminate the floor. The subtle dust clouds are a nice touch too. Well done!

moodflow

WoW!  I really like that global illumination here.  The sand is actually illuminating the walls of the canyon.  Very nice!

Thanks a lot!!! =)

The dust is only a very low 3D-cloud ;)
I changed the colour and that's it.
Not very complicated but it works :D
As far as I can see I am the first one using 3D-clouds this way 8)

rcallicotte

Yes.   8)!!!
