How much of a Terragen scene can you take into Unreal? Is it just the raw obj? Thx

Nothing in that sense.

You can export heightmap data from Terragen to use in Unreal's object-scapes.

You can use Terragen rendered sky domes.
Just make sure they are as high resolution as you are prepared to wait for.

You can export:

- Terrain (heightfield or geometry)
- Environment map/skybox
- Camera and lighting via FBX (pretty sure Unreal either has FBX import, or a route to do so)
- Objects, e.g. export a TGO as OBJ for use in Unreal; this doesn't work with most native Terragen objects at the moment though

Most definitely

That would really leave third party objects, that would already be OBJ and on disk outside of TG, though. But with TGO assets like plants, I believe you're really only missing AO/Normal which could be easily generated from approximation, or just opened in Blender or something, and reworked.

Though I don't know of too many TGO assets licensed appropriately for games, being modified and redistributed in another format.

Thanks guys. Sky, terrain, camera and lighting check. So it looks like you have to start from scratch with foliage and colors. I'd be interested in seeing any of your anims or images you did in Unreal using TG heightfield/objs.
