Hi, maybe you have an answer to the problems I have encountered.
I have a 2011 High Sierra 10.13.6 Mac, TG 4.1.25. maybe the reason it's just getting old computer that Terragen crashes. I left  a screenshot when it freezes (aborting threads ...)

There were several issues, crash and frozen. Messages that I had never seen evoke an unknown error concerning a particular vegetation. Even though I erased this vegetation, the same message appeared for another. I had to start repopulating the whole scene with all the objects again, which is quite a long task. Maybe it's a memory problem when I recently wanted to rework a message appeared (aborting threads...)? Everything froze and the file could not be used, I realized that maybe there was a connection to the heighfield at the back. I started over one last time making sure to deactivate this heighfield before saving it. It seems to work, I just need to re-enable the heighfield after opening the file.

Since this is an old version, I wonder if it's caused by something that was fixed in recent versions. I have sent you an email to discuss this further.

FWIW I've had similar issues with loading heightfields with the Mac version of Terragen. (It was discussed here along with a couple of unrelated topics.) Turning off auto-generate on all the heightfields before saving does help. At the time, Oshyan tested some files I provided but was not able to reproduce the problem.

I still think it's very negligent for Auto Generate to check when you manually generate. It should never activate unless the user activates it. Shouldn't even be default.

Thanks Steve for the link. I had not read this post and was not aware of it. Indeed it seems that we had the same problem at different times.
