Maybe pining a little for the greener half of the year already...

That's very idyllic and beautiful!

I'm just thinking about something I'm missing on the path. Perhaps changing the color to something less saturated or more sandy looking helps? I really don't know.
Anyway a big "like"!

This looks nice. Good vegetation mix going. Maybe some of the greens are a bit string. But lovely it is.

Yeah that's a good idea. Maybe a more brown colour going from dark to light toward the center of the path like the more worn dusty bits.

Aw heck, I like it.  It's a tough audience here anyway...  ;)
They're all wasted!

Haha we don't mean any harm and just want to help people I think for the most part.

Speaking of that I did used to run a few GFX websites as a teen and boy did feuds over C&C break out routinely. Got even worse when "art groups" became a thing where people allianced under common names to put out their art, and then defend each other against any constructive criticism.

Recently found some art from the early 2000s and had a laugh. Lol anime everything.

Beautiful forest image. I like it! I agree about the path. A little more variety would be great.

The C&C is welcome, and yeah the path feels like it's missing something. Here's v2... path didn't really turn out the way I expected from the preview so still messing with that.

It looks better imo regardless. Looking forward to more from ya.

Really nice!! There's something I noticed about the scale of the plants. Somehow the flowers and the groundcover look a bit too large compared to the trees I'd say.
And regarding the lighting, (which I like very much, but maybe there's an even better setting?): if you use the RTP and play with the sun's heading and elevation, you'll maybe find a setting, where the lighting is still dramatic, but enlightens the scene a bit more. Just a thought...

DMFW

Lovely scene and very evocative. Just as a purely personal reaction, I rather like the green gloom on the right which is how it often feels in a forest and I wouldn't be too hasty to brighten the scene up, as the shadows have their own mood. I'd certainly like to walk along that path!

The lighting is largely a stylistic choice. Agreed it's a bit dark, but even with PT on (which it is here) and tinkering with sun angles, exposure, and the tone map the shadows just looked more and more artificial as I tried to brighten them up. The current raw render is a fair bit lighter, with much of the "drama" being postwork. I figured that way I can have a bit more detail in the shadows, even if you have to look closely.

Then there is always the question of differences in monitors as well.

It might be a matter of taste, but somehow the last one looks most realistic to me. The dramatic lighting of the edited ones is great, but in this one I have the feeling, that I could just walk that path.

What, you don't like prehistoric colossal tulips? lol

Nice eye. I hadn't even noticed.

Great and convincing argument! :D :D :D

Besides I like the bright version of the new renders most but anyway the path lookls much better now!
