Came up with this one while playing with Kranky's wind wheel. I think I need change the rock dstribution and maybe add some small plants here and there (maybe around the wheel). No postwork. C & C welcome.

really like the mood and colors. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have a house/shack on the right side, but farther away. And the terrain is too flat, a very slight curve to it would help as well. Overall though, nice job

Mr_Lamppost

I also like the colours and lighting

I am running something else at the moment so can't check but I think the wind wheel is to scale so moving the camera to around 1.7m above the ground and looking slightly upwards would give a more natural feel.  I would also rotate it a few degrees around the Y axis so that it was not perfectly aligned, you could shift and rotate the camera to get this but then you would be looking at a different part of the sky and you don't want to have to re-jig your sunset. :)  Lastly I would add some very distant hills.

Your idea of adding some plant life around the base of the wheel also sounds good.
Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.

Nice colors.  I really like the clouds.

I like the colors and sky although I think the sky looks like an image map..is it an image map??....

I was about to ask the same.  Looks like the background sky is an image map.  Either way, looks great, though I think the closer cumulus clouds are a bit too fragmented.

I like the GI illumination on the rocks.  Looks quite realistic.

No, no image maps were used. I agree with you about those cumulus clouds. I really debated with myself on whether or not to put them in. I may take them out of the next render if I can't find anything better.

moodflow

Well take that as a compliment then, as they look photoreal!

So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

I think I'd prefer a slightly lower cloud density... beautiful sky thou. :) I agree the windwheel should be rotated for a more unbalanced look. The prevailing (sp?) winds can also cause a slight tilt over time.  ;)

Here is a test render of where I'm going with this one. I'm going to be changing some parts of this but I thought you all might like it (personally, I don't like the large clouds that much). It looks pretty nice in black and white though (so I think  ;D). Also, there were some banding issues in this render which I have fixed now, I think.

wow, very nice. I like the added vegetation. I agree with the clouds, they need another change. It's better now, though.

Tangled-Universe

Amazing colors on the left side of the image. The cumulus on the right could use some work, they look too billowy to my taste. The vegetation looks good, but I'm not so sure about that tree. Nevertheless great moody work, looking forward to see more of this.

Wow!  The clouds are great.  This looks much better.

In my opinion, the tree doesn't fit.  Since this reminds me of Kansas, I'd say lose the tree to look realistic.

Well I'd say keep the tree, but perhaps scale the wind mill down. And I think the clouds could benefit from slightly lower density. But I like where you are going with it, reminds me of the Flint Hills in the eastern part of Kansas.
