This looks like a good hiking place in the desert where the grade is not too steep; and, could be done within a day.

Terrain: a 2049 .ter imported to TG2

Ocotillo plants: Gary Poole

Bushes: Buzzzzz aka, Jay Testerman

Fake stones clip file: Tangled-Universe aka, Martin Huisman

The fake stones file contains four sizes of stones of various colors, textures and shapes.

I am sorry if I am being too harsh...but the ocotillo plants seems kinda big relative to the camera height and the stones and the bushes....but I like the color variation...

I love the lighting and the setup.  Great ground texture.  Excellent terrain.  The plants look okay to me, but I have yet to pursue much in the way of grasping plant life in TG2.  It does look allright to me.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Just across the street from where I live, my neighbor has an Ocotillo in his landscape that is about 14 feet tall. These plants range in size anywhere from 5 to 20 feet in height. With respect to the POV, I think the Ocotillos are about average height and size when compared to the other bushes.

Oshyan

Outstanding ground textures, great lighting, and a subtle, highly realistic sky. The plants seem appropriate, but their vibrant colors are perhaps a bit too stand-out in the environment. Reducing saturation of the plant textures a bit might help. Aside from that this is excellent.

Thanks Oshyan for visiting and for your helpful comments. I agree about the plant colors and need to work on that aspect the next time around.

realistic colours and textures

Mr_Lamppost

I have to agree with Oshyan about the plant colours but other than that Excellent  ;D

How do you keep track of where you get all the bits from?
Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.

Hi Bob!

I see you've made very good use of my clipfile, great work on (adjusting) the colors.
I agree with oshyan about the vegetation. If you need any help with it you know where to find me ;)
An other suggestion which came in my mind is to keep the foreground vegetation untouched and to reduce the cacti size in the distance so the background hills/mountains look bigger.
Atmo and lighting are both looking good as well by the way.

If it's what you wanted and it satisfies you then that's what counts. Some people can't separate Personal Taste from sound technical suggestions.  ::)

Excellent render, agree with Oshyan on most parts but the green doesn't bother me so much.

inkydigit

I like this alot...as Oshyan said...superb ground textures/variation....plants also look excellent and only a little over saturated(and really doesnt bother me either)....all in all one of my favorites for sure!
