Ok, this is just another scene from low orbit. I like the terrain but i'm going to reduce the cloud density and edge sharpness a bit. Also the water just doesn't look right so thats gonna take some tweaking.

Render Time: 12 hr 18min
Detail: .8

the clouds in the front of you image are very beautiful.... I think the water is ok, nothing to tweak.... the mirroring of the clouds are nice... I waiting for more images from this scene.... :)

is it possible to share the clouds as a clipfile?

I like the texturing much better in this one...

Technically, this is very good.  But (a small 'but'), there could be more diversity in color and lighting.  It's almost boring.  Sheesh.  There, I said it. A different view point or different lighting or even other colors might spice it up a bit more.

Just telling, since you're asking.  I'm not even 100% sure I could create that terrain down there.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

I kinda agree about the lighting with calico....to make the lighting interesting, you should place the sun between the secondary planet and the horizon!

Thanks for the comments. Gastar, if I had a clue how to post a clipfile of the clouds I would :) It may be a bit boring, but without a good basic scene nothing better can be created. I like the idea of the sun between the horizon and the moon, I have a render of that going right now and the clouds look AMAZING, kinda like fire contained in clouds ;D i'll post the render when its done, but the water makes renders take forever  :(

If you do put the sun between the moon and the atmosphere, remember to twitch up the GI, or use fill lights. Otherwise, your mountains will be black blobs.

Just a quick post before I start some work...

You might want to fake some water transparency to give the impression of the terrain below the water. There are a few posts around on the subject, but basically you want to create a BW mask based on the altitude of the terrain below the water and then apply some colour to it. Mogn's smooth gradient would be perfect for the colouring part (http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=2968.0)

I am enjoying seeing the development of this scene  ;D

I know it is a long process but there have been lots of suggestions and you will have to decide which ones work.  Just remember save often  ;)
Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.

Oh, I am saving often, i also have about 5 different files for the scene ;D
