The Arrival
February 08, 2008, 10:06:02 AM
Just another fun render while killing time waiting for the final version. I had hoped to add some little alien worms or something but could not find anything that worked. The render took about 30 hours to finish, but that was mostly due to the clouds. Thanks for taking a look.

This brilliant all around. Very science fiction and could go on a book cover easily.
So this is Disney World. Can we live here?

This is pretty cool. I'd hate to step on that thing with bare feet!
The clouds are weird, but I think thats part of this image. Some of the texture seems a bit too stretched, but thats a hard fix.

I think toning down the patch size in the compute terain node will help you fix the stretch, but i'm not entirely sure. Will have to run some tests on that.

The displacements on the, whatever It is, are interesting, the strange clouds certainly add to the feel. The only thing I am not sure about is the post worked glow filter, I am finding it distracting

cool displacement.
The world is round... so you have to use spherical projection.
