This is my first proper go with Populations, don't know why, just never got into it. I'm using here some of Lighting's awesome Olea Europaea's and some of C Stein's Russian Iris's.

I especially like the third and first one - natural looking growth.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

PG

Thanks, middle one didn't really go right, they ended up more like weird trees.

I like the second one.  Distribution of everything looks good and the lighting is very good.  The thing I'd like to see on it would be random dispersement of the flowers.

First and third ones are best to my eye. As Calico said, very natural looking. The choice of a dark sky is interesting, too. In the first case it definitely adds to the realism. In the 3rd image I'm not so sure but it's still a good image.

I'm suprised by the render of Olea Europea, it's a Xfrog Version ?
Because I use this tree and I haven't the same result !

PG

It's not from the free xfrog pack, don't know about the full ones. I got it from lightning.

Thanks for all the comments guys, as with all my recent renders, I'm going to spend a lot more time with them once I get my licence, get paid on Thursday, eeeep. :D

Ok, I understand !
An example with the Olea Europa of XFrog !

Seth

hehehe Phyllo stop flooding your render ! ;)

The world is round... so you have to use spherical projection.

Tangled-Universe

I think the vegatation is a bit monotone on the 3rd one and in general lack a bit of quality.
What I like the most about the three images are the rain-clouds. Nice shapes and coloring. Should try that too sometime.

All the models are actually on low quality apart from the grass one which is on high.

P.S. Phyllo, can you post a clip of you clouds for that one? 8)

Nice renders. Can I ask which grass model you are using?  I have been using the built in grass clump but have noticed that people are getting better results with imported models.

Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.
