I was hoping to bring it into Photoshop and do a Threshold on it to find some secret satanic messages ala Stairway to Heaven.

I'd suggest darkening it a bit to achieve more realism...

I was in a lava tube once and this is just what it looked like when the lantern went out. Bravo on the realism.
