Skipping Renders of Pre-GI

I don't have an illustration of this and will try to create one tonight, if it's helpful, but it appears that sometimes (and for some unknown reason) I get blotchy renders that appear to be skipped render blocks.  The blotches are in the same shape as the pre-GI render and these blotches (raw, tangled, miry messes of not fully rendered image) are accompanied by an error message saying there was an error with something to do with a render command.  Wish I could remember the error exactly, but can find it later tonight, if you want it.

From what I've read in the support forum, this appears to be related to the multi-threading and memory usage issue.  I'm using the /3GB switch, but it doesn't seem to help in some files.  This could be rather discouraging to think that I'm limited to what I can do, by the limits of the OS (WinXP Pro).  Any thoughts about this predicament?  Is there an optimum system that Planetside recommends for never needing to worry about memory issues?

It could be my concerns are premature, since this is still an Alpha.

The /3GB switch is unlikely to do much for TG2 at the moment as we haven't enabled support for it on the development side (but we're working on it). Until TG is 64 bit there will unfortunately be no system that will be free of memory concerns. 4GB is the maximum possible address space for a 32 bit application and that requires large address support in the application itself as well as a 64 bit OS. 3GB is the maximum up on XP Pro 32 bit, but again that must be explicitly supported by the developer. We definitely want to make improvements in memory use so rest assured we're working on it.

Thanks, Oshyan.  I do feel desperate at times, wondering if I'll be able to use this program fully.  It would be nice to have the /3GB option for 32-bit and a 64-bit would just lead me to greener pastures...and more money to spend.   ;D

I've read some stuff here at the forums about that /3G switch but I honestly don't know how to apply it. I'm running XP 64-bit.
Would you like to explain it for me Calico or Oshyan? Thanks in advance.

@TU - You don't need it in XP 64-bit.
