Displacement is cool!  Color not so fantasmic.

Personally, I like the first one better; this one is still great but the other image was one of the best tg2 images I've ever seen

Add some varying color strata that fade in and out along horizontally and perhaps some spots of small rigid stones here and there. This has a ton of potential.

To be honest I like the colour of this one, especially the browning area in the middle, how did you localise that, I've never been good with shaders give me a cloud and water scene to do any day, so much easier. lol

By the way, like said before here I also prefer the first version.
However, the displacements are really awesome.
