grainy lightsources

Is anyone else getting grainy atmos around lightsources? I'm sure there's a spinner somewhere that can fix it but not sure how to do it.
Any help appreciated.

At a guess I'd try upping the atmos samples to 64 or maybe more, just a guess of the top of my head tho :)

I'd like to see what happens when you bump up atmos quality to around 100, and GI detail up 3+. Would be good to see the difference.

64 did very little.
Here is 100 samples with GI cranked to 3...

It maybe not the effect you're looking for, but it does demonstrate how the atmosphere effects the 'particle' look of the light source. The GI detail up to 3, shows me how the light bounces around the stones and surface detail more accurately. If you wanted the light source to be more prevalent, then increasing it's physical size would do that. If you wanted to lose the 'particle' look, then more cowbell needs to be applied to the atmos quality. Either way, an interesting exercise, thank you.

What is your light source number set at?
I would hazard a guess that it's not realistic and that the light source is not as close as it' looks so is really dealing with a much bigger atm then is lead by the eye to believe.

Well done Mandrake.
My light was set all the way up to a stupid degree. Now I need to work out how to make a large lightsource like that work without winding the intensity too far.
