Hey guys,

My first image with TG2. Was quite fun figuring out the ropes with this, even though the node network is a big mess right now :p

I was using a pregenerated erosion heightmap thrown together in world machine in about 5 minutes, and some postwork was added after the render. Original render was 1900x1200 and 6.5 quality. Just finished last night ;D

Is it really your first image? Great result!  ;D
You might add some trees and then it will be a stunning image!

EoinArmstrong

Your first?!  That's incredible :)

Love the lighting, colours, atmo and water - breathtaking start!

Lovely mood. Incredible jumpstart :)

Very cool! I really like the mood here! Reminds me of "Jurassic Park"  ;D
Mouthwash? We don't need no stinking mouthwash!! [MI2]

Did you play with TG0.9 before? If not, this really is a jumpstart!! Really nice atmo, the surfacing is good and the water is very nice. Hm, my comment sounds very ReRo-like - but I mean it. ;D
Décider c'est mourir un peu.

the rock structures and the atmosphere are well carried out!

I like the atmo! Is "6.5 quality" a typo? If not I would suggest never again going that high, it just isn't needed :)

I was wondering as well! Great image, will you post the full version somewhere (flickr, imageshack, deviantart etc.)? :)

Must mean 0.65, I'd think.

6.5? Phew!

tempaccount

whoops, 0.65 of course - guess that was some sort of automatic conversion in my brain :p

GI detail was 3, with a sample quality of 4, filter: narrow cubic. I had to increase the atmosphere and cloud quality a lot to get the clouds near the mountains look good, but otherwise the render engine in TG2 does a fantastic job.

Thank you all for the praise, wasn't expecting this many replies ;D I've used TG0.9 for a week or so, before TG2 came out and jumped right on it. I'm really looking forward to my next project where I can pay much more attention to the surface layering, now that I know how to do it. Most of this project was spent in finding a good workflow for myself and trying to learn how stuff works, especially the water and displacement shaders.

very cool looks very 0.9ish!

very excellent....love the light/mood here also, has a tg0.9xx feel aswell.....great start, can't wait to see more!

Cool. This is a good overall look. The cloudy atmosphere is very good. Like a humid climate. Maybe you improved it quite a bit in post but no matter, it is still effective.
