WM terrain with Strata and redirection.

My wetline is an ordinary surface layer - I tried making it using a default shader so I could add some specularity, but it didn't work out; when I used a distribution shader on the default shader it alpha'd out the terrain :(

What would have been the best way to introduce specularity - anyone know?

Cheers!

Eoin.

PS - this looks a lot better in full size :)

Nice basis for a scene, as always I'm liking your texturing. For reflectiveiy, add a Reflective Shader as a child layer input and adjust settings to taste.

Yep, full size does indeed bring out the wonderfully refined detail in the terrain and its surfacing. And, yep, it's reflectivity rather than specularity your after for the wet rock effect.

I hope I realise I don't exist before I apparently die.

Outstanding texturing. I really like this. Nice muted colours. I can see why you were asking about specularity or reflexion for your water line, but I actually like it like it is. It gives the impression that this water line is an old one. an area covered with water for a looooong time, but the water level dropped some time ago and left this exposed.... er, am I maybe giving this too much thought?  ;D

I love the smell of caffine in the morning

I thought that too - and even thinking about adding another darker (but thinner) wetline much closer to the water level.

I'll try that reflectivity tonight :)

Thanks all for your comments thus far.
