low, medium or high quality shrub?

I wonder why a population of homemade heather shrub (XFrog) at low quality (timed at 4.30 min/268479 triangles) renders slower than medium quality (3.33/243101). High quality even renders fastest @ 3.17 min/238423 triangles. It even looks better at high quality, and less triangles were made. Btw, I haven't tried the highest quality yet. This was only a very small test, but perhaps high(est) quality would be faster for large renders as well...
Anyone have an explanation and/or similar experience?

There is a bug in the populator which I have recently fixed. It might explain the weird results you're getting, but your example seems pretty extreme. I'm still making adjustments based on the new workings but it should go into alpha (private beta) testing pretty soon.

Just because milk is white doesn't mean that clouds are made of milk.

Thanks for your prompt response, Matt. It was the first time that I tested this, but I usually render pops in high quality. I will have a try at the highest and see what happens.
