The Islands W.I.P. Update 3

Hi All... inspired by Dan's Maldives image and info (thanks Dan), I have made this little WIP. The water is not right and the texturing has a way to go. All comments and suggestions warmly welcomed...

good image ... the water needs some transparency and some waves ...it looks like a flat mirror

I don't agree with aymenk, the scales of the water is just right compared to the size of the islands. With a calm sea this is probably exactly as it will look like in real life.
A tad more transparency would be nice, but not too much.
The next step might be to find a bit more interesting seed for your terrain, maybe get something more atol like?

Thanks guys, I'll tweak the transparency and mess with the Island shapes a bit. I might go with a few different weather situations when I get closer to convincing Island shapes. I'll keep these shapes on file as I like the unreal artistic smoothness of them.

I think I'll get busy with Dune's Breaker tutorial (does this teach me windmills and head spins?)

Funny, I like these more simplified, abstract shapes. Not realistic perhaps, but sort of... symbolic, iconic. A good image already IMO, but if absolute realism is what your after, the tweaks you and others mention will probably help.
