  Hi,

This is my real first render with TG 2.  İ tried it before 2- or 3 times. But could not get a grasp on it,especialy nodes.
İ was waiting for the right time (silly me :) ).
Last month i said to me that i have too try harder. So i began pushing the nodes and numbers...
When you try to make it yourself you begin realy to respect the people here and on another places more and more who make such nice renders with TG 2.
For me the breakthru came with the video tutorials by Neuspadrin...But i have to thank to all the other good Terragenners too in the forum here ...
Without you i would not have make it so far...

Okey...i started with one goal: Fake stones.İ like them.Because of this i started with a fake stone scene in mind.

2 day latter i had this image " fakestones_first_try.jpg" .But there are many things that i don't liked.

İ began 2 more times from zero and ended with this " Old_Crater.jpg " .

There are many more things to adjust : The Clouds , maybe more sand on the groud , beter texture on the right side of the big stone on the right etc....
But i spend nearly 10 days on this.İt is time to move on.

Good or bad i learned a lot. İ have unfortunately only the free version. The first picture is brought together by  2    800 X 600 renders. The second by 6 renders.
Maybe because of this or me ;D there is something odd here...it is not easy to to make a picture if you see not it at one piece  :)
(For stitching these renders i used this free (beta?) program: http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/redmond/groups/ivm/ICE/     )

Thanks to all of you and Planetside:)

Note to newbies like me : This forum is realy nice and reading tutorials etc...But please  open Terragen 2 and begin to making a scene. Simple, complex , good or bad it doesnt matter...İf it's bad you will see it will starting to be better in time.Don't be afraid.

Forget Tuesday; It's just Monday spelled with a T

My god... you should see my first images. ::) You clearly have a good mind set and know what you want to achieve. These are great for your first project, I will watch your progress.

Your right about this forum, the people here are the nicest I've come across on any forum. If you need help with anything, just ask and you'll get a whole lot of answers from experienced TG2 users.

It's good to focus on a certain aspect of the program and tackle it till it becomes easy, then move onto something else.

Cheers, Simon.

I just need to tweak that texture a bit more...

Oh my, the 2nd image, the distant areas look extremely good and crisp.  Very nice for a "first post".

Very good effort ... 2 years ago these images would have been a burner ,-) ... I agree with the clouds.

Very interesting lighting you have ... bright sun, light shadows ... did you use luminosity in your shaders ... anyway it is very eyecatching.

domdib

Welcome - very impressive start. As Simon says, it's good, as you have done here, to really focus on one aspect. Then pretty soon, you'll find yourself combining the techniques. Look forward to seeing more of your work.

Kadri

Thanks, your kind words realy mean something to me.

Volker : İ am realy not sure ;D  İ think atmosphere and Sun setting were at default.Maybe because i adjust the  "exr" file output.

May i ask something? İ thing the answer is somewhere here in the forum but if you say RTFM it would okey anyway ;D

The big fake stone in the right side, there is an unwanted surface apperance.İt seams like the underlying surface and fake stone surfaces to me? İs there a way to prevent this?İ used  4 merge shader nodes for the fake stones  and set it to highest like i somwhere here read.

Kadri.

Well, I do not know what RTFM is the abreviation for, but for sure I am not a specialist for fake stones.

I remember a thread from the dawn of ages ;) it had been suggested to start with the largest stones ... make a copy of the fake stone shader and give it a colour of pure white. Its output can be used for blending smaller stones and so on ... it is a bit tricky ...
