Can anyone explain these glitches in the render ???

Have been working a fair amount of time on rocks for the past months and thanks to glen5700 for the shove in the right direction with his clips !!! During the render I noticed a few patches appear and always in the same spots wherever the camera is, that is always on the same part of the mountain.These are easily photoshop'd out but I wonder why they occur and if it is something that I am not doing right.... or is it just a fact of Terragen ??? My guess is that these are displacement artefacts.
It looks like you have quite some displacements here.
Also, did you do all the displacements before a compute terrain and then the texturing after the compute terrain?
Using them mixed is ok, but can give unexpected results.

You might "solve" this problem by choosing a different seed for some displacement fractals.

It looks like it may be GI surface details enabled but without a high enough value for GI sample quality. A quick way to test this is by disabling GI surface details, if I'm right.
