This is an old topic . Is there any progres about this?   http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=3744.15

This is my problem at the moment : http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=7815.0

I think i have to make my object from scratch again , there are maybe bad parts that are my fault(still not sure about this).
But from my tests there are problems that are going to make trouble for me regardles if i make it in another way...

I have 4-5 test images of very very simple objects like in the first link above. But they have the same problem. There will be smoothing problems very likely with my object.

Must i make the spaceship from millions of triangles to be smooth?

This is realy important to me. Are there changes about this in the new v. of TG2 ?

Edit: I searched the documents but could not find anything about objects. It is very late...maybe my fault..are there any instructions?

Thanks.

Kadri.

According to Matt's reply in that thread, it's "supposed" to work this way. I'm not aware of any additional fixes being worked on this area, but that doesn't mean there aren't issues that might be fixable. It may be a good thing to have brought this back up...

When you make the conversion from LWO to OBJ in poserray there is a small "max smoothing angle" (think thats what its called) on the loading screen. Try some other values in there and see how it changes your final render. If your model is fairly high density than a small smoothing angle may be sufficient, 12* to 20* maybe.
good luck
