Two renders, experiments.

I was waiting for a huge render, and had some memory to spare. These both are just experiments. The dark one looks cool to me. The other was mistaken for a photo on Flickr.

I like displacements on the darker one, nice big bulky strata displacements

would like to see it bigger so i could get a better look at some of the details in it.

I like it, dial out the cloud shadows for the mean time, so you can get a better feel for the textures?

it's obvious you're making quite some progress with your TG2 skills. Both are good renders. Agree the dark one is more interesting, though

Well I did a large render of the dark image. I hit the random button before I saved it, so it's not quite the same.

Njeneb , nothing againts your image but i have something to say . Maybe it is my monitor but your images seems most of the time a little to bright to me.
I think if you make same adjustement to your monitor (calibrating) your images would look really better as they are ( in the forum are other images too that would benefit from this ) .

My monitor is old. I can not get drivers for it. The contrast ratio is so bad, I lose most gray colors into a mud of gray. I want to get a new monitor, and have actually found one which 'looks' like it will be much better; by the spec. sheet anyway.

I wonder, let me try something. Maybe Corel Paint X2 has a calibration program. Thanks Kadri.

By the way, this looks really dark on my monitor.

that resolution is much better

to me it looks like a someone took a giant comb and carved onto the terrain.
