Beauty Seth, need to animate a butterfly in there.

Franck, I don't think you would notice a drop in quality if your render detail setting was down to 0.7, or even 0.65. But your rendertime would be close to half - I assume.
In a still, yes you would notice, but not in that animation with motion blur.

Frank you know TG2 better then me but in animation noise/flickering are really a problem.
If this are a problem with other quality settings (atmosphere , cloud and such) you may be right.
By the way how much do the render detail setting influence the noise ratio?

Kadri.

bad quality. sorry for that.
testing animation with objects (and mostly lighting and camera movements).

nice, do you render a very low quality small image size before you render the final one, or do you render a test using full spec..

Oshyan

I would definitely reduce render detail if it's at 1. 0.65 would probably be fine, especially with the new rendering method. Then increase AA, that would help the flicker and noise most. With the new rendering method it's actually AA that affects noise on objects most.

Seth

i disagree. the detail is 0.85 and i can assure you that 0.65 looks worst ^^
0.75 is the lowest detail possible in this one if you don't want to get a very "blurry" animation.
but the AA 6 seems a bit low...
anyway, without several computers in my sleeve, no way I can redo this one :p

Oshyan

Some people might be willing to help. ;) I'd be interested to see if I could tune it for better render time, too. Only if you want to though. I can understand you wanting to move on to other projects. :)

Seth

no problem !
I kinda like the "forest serie" I did, and this is why I chose to animate one of these render ^^
I will send you a "finalized" tgd as soon as I can Oshyan but as this one was a kind of test, I must admit that i was planning to render it bigger and better quality...
anyway, i am very late for work (f*cking joooob) so I'll try to do something about that tonite if I can ^^
thanks all for your comments

Oshyan

No problem, take your time. It's great work. :)

yep !
I, like everybody, dream of a faster TG2 but... well 250 for 21 seconds with so many objects... on a single computer... for me, it is not that bad

Jack

yeah and animations are one offs compared to single framed
and yeah one pc
