This goes back to an earlier problem with importing lwo. into Poser Ray to convert to obj. for TG2. I installed lightwave on my mac and made an object. When I moved the object to Windows and tried to import my object into PoserRay (Windows), it doesn't read the file as if no file was there.

I am not sure i understand you and this isn't probably the problem , but has your file proper naming with lwo extention (i don't know macs) ?

What do you mean by proper naming?

Check that the file has the right extension. Mac Lightwave files dont have the last .lwo whereas the windows ones do. Also check that you have the most recent version of Poseray.

To be more clear...If your object has the name something like this   "  myobject  "   in windows  it has to be   "  myobject.lwo "

I think by default you can not see the extentions in windows. There are  Folder Options  to change this.
But i use  Totalcommander  ( it had the name   Wincommander in the past)  more than 10 years. It is really a good file manager and many more things at ones.
Changing extentions and such is a breeze with Totalcommander.

Thanks for the info. This helped a lot. Another question about Poseray. I imported the obj. file that I converted and the object is messed up. The original lightwave file looks fine and so does the new obj. in Poseray. Any ideas?

If you search the forum  for  "Poseray"  there are many topics. One of them is this. I hope it will help you.

I find sometimes, if I convert an .obj to a .3ds and then import into PoseRay it helps. I use an ancient version of 3D Exploration from Right Hemisphere for all my object conversions prior to opening in PoseRay and it seems to help with messed up objects...sometimes not. If you have no luck PM me and we can arrange for me to attempt the conversion for you on my system if you like.. ...
