Anim8or has something like this. It's a 32x32 square grid called "CHECKS". It is 64x64 pixels and has a pair of gradients added together: One is a black-to-green gradient and the other is a red-to black gradient. Then there's white squares on top of that.
They just issued a tornado warning and said to stay away from windows. Does that mean I can't use my computer?

I understand the purpose of this image, but is it really possible to get the terrains properly maped?
If so... how ? What do I do?

I suppose that this could be scaled and used as a reference grid for image maps on terrains. It should not be that hard since Terragen 2 uses actual meters and cm's.
