The bark on the tree is fantastic!  Would still like to see what the buildings would look like with raytracing off (i.e. with displacement enabled).

Is Planetside going to make displacements compatible with raytracing?

I saw this over on Flickr as a thumbnail. What's really missing are some paths and more plants. I know you have been working on the building objects. They really look good. It's been great watching this progress. Will there be a tutorial for your object manipulation techniques?

thanks Mick, and njeneb...as for a tute, it would be a very simple one, I started with a very flat terrain, added the objects, rotated to suit the pov, jiggled them a bit, added a distant terrain for some back ground interest, which is now obscured by trees, there are paths added with a painted shader, but from this low pov you cant see them, adding the populations, was the same as the single objs, I tend to raise the camera to get an overview, and use the axis arrows to slide them about to suit...also sometimes I will hit random seed a few(million) times until I see a formation I like, as this was really only testing the latest alpha build I was not really very methodical, I kind of just let it evolve....that was about it really, no real tricks to give away, the lighting is again quite simple, sun fairly low in the sky and strength adjusted, till I was happy, soft shadows enabled, quite a large radius, higher samples, GI level was increased a bit on surfaces, and increased in general...dont know what else to add...I will try these models again, for freebies, they are sweet, at least from this distance!!
thanks again
Jason
