$200 for the pack!

Some people must pay that I guess. I keep hoping they will release individual objects for purchase or very small packs at more affordable prices.

With individuals producing such high quality objects here and the growing NWDA library of objects selling at reasonable prices, not to mention all the Ashundar stuff, there seems little appeal in paying hundreds of dollars to Xrog.

cyphyr

Once the quantity of NWDA models reach a viable level (the quality is already there) might they be released in OBJ format as well? That would make a huge dent in XFrog's market.

you know who modelled those veggis?

200/180 makes 1,11 US$ per model - I think thats not really expensive.

cyphyr

I thought I recognised the style :)
The price is very good I agree but I do think people have a good point in selling the models at an individual price.

Xfrog does sell its models individually on Turbosquid for example. Also on Cornucopia. Of course it can take a while until the new stuff is uploaded, don´t have a clue when this happens. But it will happen.

I totally understand hobby users, that can´t buy a complete library for 200 bucks. But I guess that this is more targeted to archviz business.

Hi Richard,

all the object packs at NWDA come as TGO's and OBJ in one package. You may have overlooked that ;)

Cheers,
Frank

yes, thats right, but this is simply the price scheme of turbosquid.

Walli the price per model is good in the Xfrog pack but that's to be expected because of the amount of objects you are bulk buying, that's normal business practice. If they released a pack with say just 5 or 10 objects then I would expect the price per object to go up quite a bit higher, which is fair enough.

This is what I hoped xfrog would do, release smaller packs of individual objects with a higher cost per object but a total overall cost of much less for instance around $10 instead of $200.

As you mention in one of your posts, it seems they are targeting business use with that sort of charge but I don't see why they can't release smaller more cost effective packs aiming at the hobbyist market.

Walli i'm just grateful that i'm able to use your objects via NWDA because you really are an outstanding modeller.

Walli

I totally understand that, but compared to other commercial vendors, Xfrog price is not bad at all. By the way - on turbosquid you always buy a species, this means 3 models in each pack (should be nine in the latest ones, but I am not sure baout that), so the per model price on Turbosquid also is below 10,-.

I also think it would be nice if it would be possible for customers to create own, small bundles - but I think the only way to get something like that is to ask them directly.

Thankyou, I had indeed :)
Are you advertising outside the Terragen community then?

I haven't tried to advertise this elsewhere, personally I have no track record in any other CG community than Terragen's.
I had mentioned it in a rero vue forum once, but a couple funky guys (actually just one) there actually were put off by the fact that we differntiate between private and commercial use pricing...

oh well...

Cheers,
