" Mari is a new product for the Foundry, developed by the R&D and texture departments at Weta Digital.
Mari has been forged by Weta in the heat of the production of films such as Lord of The Rings, King Kong and Avatar.
Mari is a full 3D paint/texture tool able to handle up to 30K textures and produce production ready assets while remaining responsive and interactive.
The product is not a modeling tool such as Mudbox - rather it is focused just on texture painting. "

The price is a little high for me. The tool set would be great to have!

its suppoesed to be 500,- Euro, thats actually cheap in the realms of professional applications. If it does what they say, then bigger studios won´t wait a second and even smaller ones will consider to buy.
I have Bodypaint integrated in Cinema4D, so for now I am fine. But I too will have a look at Mari. The minimum I hope is, that Maxon tries to keep on one level. Bodypaint has been the door opener to bigger studios for Maxon, so I guess they will have a close look.

I agree the price is not bad for professional use. It's just out of reach for me right now. It is exciting software. I can see projects I would like to do using it.
It's likely my old computer would not run it very well.

I know that 500,- is usualy out of reach if you don´t earn your money with it. First have to buy a new bed for baby, new trousers and jacket for kiddy and everytime when you think " now it´s the time", then for sure your washing machine will die ;-)
I know that very well ;-)

Hehe, everything was more affordable when I did not have so much stuff to repair.
