The displacement factor settings are in the displacement tab to the right...
What I meant to say is that you shouldn't use a displacement factor of 10 (for example) when the feature scale is 1m, because that would obviously cause spiky displacements, 10m tall and 1m wide.

I'm not going to spoon feed you on what to do exactly ;)

I'm trying to do a better looking rocky aspect of Grand Canyon, I'm little confusing, tg2 is wonderful but a bit difficult to understand... ;)

Finally I'm doing it!!!

After a mounth (or two? ;)) working on dems, I obtained some Grand Canyon views, merging some dems togheter... :)
I've followed directions bring here: http://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/terravirtual/index.htm

I'm very very happy (also if this is only a wip...):

This is very first "serious" project that I made with tg2.
I want that this work become "collaborative", an open project, onto it who wants can give its collaboration...

Ter files're for anybody wants them.

Ter files are:

1) Desert View lookup;
2) Wosan Throne and Vishnu Temple;
3) Glen Canyon and Horseshoe bend;
4) Marble Canyon;
5) Full ter of Grand Canyon:

All ters're 8193*8193 but I can reduce size, if requested.

Great finds Lalla...

Now work step by step, using those tutorials perhaps, one thing at a time and keep posting your results here and ask for suggestions for improvements and you're on a roll ;)

I would that surface results a bit grainy (without change strata lines) as image above, but I don't know where put power fractal shader... shaders or terrain?

It's a good habit to start with displacing everything in the terrain tab, thus before the compute terrain.
After the compute terrain you texture your terrain.

That's the best and easiest way to learn it, once get the hang of it you'll realize that the system is quite flexible, but complexity would increase quickly.

So, to summarize, put the powerfractal in the terrain tab.

Ok, for colors, as your opinion, they're good or too "colorful"?
