excellent concept and realisation!

Redwolf

many times I have tried to do a twister and failed, this is cool, like the way the trees get blown away

Henry Blewer

The base needs more dirt and stuff flying around. I have seen these things. The base is quite diffuse looking. Anything a tornado can lift will fly 10 feet to 10 miles.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!! GET TO DA BASEMENT!

the twister looks a bit strange or out of place with the mountains
in the background imo.
WARNING! WIZARDS! DO NOT PREDICT THE BEHAVIOR OF OTTERS UNLESS YOU OBEY BIG HAPPY TOES.

That looks like an F2 or F3 Tornado twister. Very cool effects. What is the neat trick to do
these things? Looks pretty amazing.
Many congratulations!

I'm with max on this one, How exactly did you go about this? Cumulus clouds masked by a circle mask or something> seams like that would create too perfect of a shape though.

Tornado looks nice, but it is not even close to windy enough yet. Well, that is, if you have a F-0.005 tornado (:D) it might. I really expected for it to look much more windy  ;)
Heard of computer graphics? CG? Terragen 2, the landscape generating program, also known as TG, a whole cool way to create realistic CG - with TG.

I also thought the immediate surroundings of a tornado should have trees askew, and more rubbish and small dirt flying around, but that takes a lot more work, and separate pops of trees. I'll keep this largely to myself, but I'll tell you the twister is a metacloud, restricted by a warped simple shape.
Perhaps the mountains are not appropriate, but I liked it, never intended it to be 'reality'. Maybe this next version is more real. Only the sand ripples on the rocks is a bit off.

Here's another POV of the first one, but the dirt is too static IMO. I wish I could get it blurred by motion.

This reminds me very much of 'dust devils' which we see here often in the desert. Just last Sunday, my wife and I were driving through the town of Maricopa where one of these was crossing the road just in front of us. My car swayed back and forth a few times until we passed it. Throughout the warmer season; almost any time, one will see dust devils in the desert.

Very good depiction here Ulco.

Seth

good jobs.
nice twister

We had a tornado in New Zealand just a couple of days ago. They're very rare here. A couple of people were killed and quite a bit of damage.

whaou it's really a crappy year between  new zealand and mother nature. I hope it can help to get your rugby team weaker during the next world cup.  :D

Seth

the lighting on the first one is very good.
I really like how light strikes the tornado
