Thanks guys. It's easily animated.. 1 translate shader to the end of the chain with Y axis rotation and some axis translates

Yeah the experiment was a "timelapse" I was mostly testing how the fractals progress and when the swirly parts fade away or if they strengthen

I suggest punching some vortex shaders thru the planet like this. You can create some interesting "eye" effects. The picture is depicted from top and the eye appears on the side..
