Great stories, indeed!

Business Application Designer/Coder, always worked in IT. Never thought of myself as an artist, no talent in music, can neither draw nor paint. I do enjoy photography, but I am average at best. I certainly love consuming art, though. Another big love of mine is nature. And along comes Terragen that renders your fantasies for you... I was hooked from the moment of discovery :)

Retail sales for a number of years while I went to school.  Computer graphics was a hobby at the time but I landed a six month gig on a TV show doing visual effects because at the time, no one knew how to do that kind of work on computers.  That wound up lasting about 3 years, then I left that place for the company I'm at now for going on 17 years.  It's been a wile ride.

Started in the procurement/purchasing profession in 1956 at a company that manufactured sausage and hot dog casings in Chicago, Illinois. After 30 years with this company, I took an early retirement and moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I took on a job with Bar-S Foods as Corporate Purchasing Manager overlooking an operation of three processing plants and one distribution center. Did this for another 14 years ...best job I ever had. Bar-S is known for their hot dogs, sausage, luncheon meats, hams and bacon. Loved participating in their taste tests.

Retired from there and continued as a consultant for a few more years. Now, I spend my time decomposing ...whooops, I mean composing Terragen images. Truly, Arizona and Utah are absolutely beautiful. So many places to see and hike, take pictures, collect artifacts ...the list goes on. If your ever out here look me up. We'll have a couple of beers and talk shop.

Holy cow, I just got goosebumps! I wasn't aware that this thread is three years old and I found Bob's Posting!
That would be indeed the weirdest background!

Well, I am a male nurse in my real life. I used to draw a lot and started to do CG-stuff when it was possible on home computers.
