Been working off and on, mainly test renders and camera changes for 2 days ant this is where it's at.
This is just a Fractal terrain with no SS  shader involvement, followed after tweaking/reseeding till something I liked showed up, by a Twist and Shear shader active only in the Y as I wanted spikier mountains, and then a Fractal Warp shader.
2 populations of some very nice Pines walli gave away on one of his places online a long time ago. And I used archonforest's free grass.
I went with an almost overhead sun as I rarely do so change is good.
For texturing I copied all the dialogue of the Fractal terrain into a Power Fractal shader and used that as my base colouring of the scene.
added some .tgc texture files.
C&C at will.

Terrain and shading is looking damn good, I think the trees are a tad big in comparison thou

I was wondering about that...will try scaling them later.

The terrain has a lot of very interesting shapes, some of which remind me of China.  Why is the Atmosphere so bright though?

Nice start Bobby!

by intent Derek, but as the terrain is the only thing I liked I've moved on...will return to this later...seems like "one of those" that works better days, weeks, or even months later.
