This is very much a WIP , so as always (and especially this time) C&C's about any aspect of this image are welcome.
I've been wanting to model some old, gnarly olive trees and that progressed to this image.
Olive Trees, grasses, cross and roses modeled in Blender 2.79

"Gnarly" was the word that came to mind when I saw the trees.  Nice and fitting concept!
They're all wasted!

Sure, I'll share the best one. The others have some small problems that show up under normal illumination.

Very nice models, I like it.
But for my taste is it a little bit to dark, would increase the environment lightning factor or try another sun heading...hmmm...

@stormlord:
There's a backlit mist in the next iteration that lighten's up key parts of the image.

The rose leaves around the cross were snipped from one of my wife's rosebushes yesterday. They are more to my liking than the original ones.
Added a misty background that's somewhat illuminated, darkened the sky and added some clouds.  Wasn't sure what kind of effect I would get but I'm not unhappy with the end result.

luvsmuzik

These are great! Love both of your images ! Dramatic sky is cool!

I got the tree from NWDA. Thank you!

Hope you do not mind:
Displacement on bark my image 0.5  (base color beige makes bark beige):)) GNARLY!
Path traced image subdivision detail modifier 0.5
Translucency olive leaf 0.5

Ground cover olive grove...small fake stones with autumn colors tgc.

Peace!  :)

Did not realize until after reading this that my bump values were not nearly high enough. Increased from .01 to .5 as per Luvsmuzik and 3D look was much improved.
Thanks Luvs!

Stormlord

This is much better, I like the details and I like the cross!

That's very beautiful!
Do you want to keep the green leaves around the cross so highly saturated?

Thanks Doc. I might dial back the green highlight just a tad, but not too far because I want The viewers eye to be drawn to the center of the image (a big reason why I left the olive trees on the sides to be somewhat dim)
