I have been playing with this image for quite some time.  So many options in TG2 it is a tweaker's dream come true. I did very little post work in either of the two images.

Too big to post in one shot I guess.

Nice job on both :).  The variety and detail of your displacements and colors adds a nice touch of realism to the terrain.  The shining clouds in the second are nice, but there's something about them that doesn't quite ring true to me.

I like the first one...the right side of it is really well done...

although the 2nd one is awfully bright for a night....

Both are very good.

The only thing I would change on the day version would be to make the cloud layer deeper.

I agree about the glowing clouds in the night time version, for the clouds to be that bright I would expect there to be a little more light in the atmosphere.
Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.

I like them both.  The lighting on the second one is good at the cloud level.  The setup of the terrain and the color and the clouds are all very good in the first.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Hannes

Maybe the second one would look more real if the color of the terrain was less saturated. At nighttime everything seems to be more grey.

Thanks for the comments.  Still new at this so your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The world is round... so you have to use spherical projection.

I like this.  The moon is impressive.

I love the night scene! I've been trying for ever to try and get a realistic moon that appears to emit light, but I've never come close to that.
