So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

I'm starting to get a horrible feeling that this is going to be another re-run of the Jan 08 release, remember this when we went right up to the 11th hour (practically literally) and then we were informed of huge problems that we've spent the last year+ fixing.
Oh well all we can do is keep the faith, really hope I'm wrong.
Good luck PS, make us proud :)

I must say I'm pretty much numb from this stuff. In other words I don't believe anything I hear and only half of what I see.

And, if it makes you guys feel any better this is what we have:

Stated on the Pre-Purchase Page where they say what you get for your money, are these lines:

# Free updates to Terragen 2 "Deep" edition final release and subsequent minor updates (2.x versions)
# Free updates to Terragen 2 Animation module available upon final release and subsequent minor updates (2.x versions)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

However, on the License agreement (the last thing you have to agree to before you can install TG) is this line:

Should any other warranties be found to exist, such warranties shall be limited in duration to ninety (90) days following the date of delivery to you. In no event will Vendor's liability for any damages to you or any other person exceed the amount paid for the license to use the Software. Vendor shall have no obligation to provide technical support, maintenance, updates or other support for the Software.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, what we have is "Matt's Word" and "90 Day Guarantee" for support and Updates.

If we do indeed receive the release as Matt said at the beginning of this Thread, that's Great! If not hey, I already used my 90 days.  ;)

Have a TG Day!  :)

I think thats there more for the someone who might buy tg2 once its not really fully supported and tg3 (wohooo?!?!) is out, and then try to demand support and patches for the old software.

people sue for stupid stuff these days, which leads to overuse of legal protection.

"i didn't know eating fast food every day, every meal would make me fat! sue mcdonalds!!!"

"hot coffee is hot!!! sueeeee!!!"

its retarded.... the world is turning into idiocracy (great movie, if you havn't seen it, go rent it or something, and open your eyes to our future)

sjefen

Yeah... It's so stupid.

It makes me wonder why there is a law in California that says: "It is illegal to eat an orange in your bath tub"
Wtf is that all about ???

Actually, that's just America... You are famous for your suing society! The rest of the world isn't as retarded as you... yet. ;)
Howgh!

I'm not really proud of it and wish people would learn.

Since we don't have any real control over what Planetside does, let's just wait and see.  If they do not live up to their word, then you can deal with the disappointment.  But, they were sort of put in between a rock and a hard place with xFrog's announcement about free stuff.  Anyway, it might just be the way a smaller business deals with things that are out of their control, in which case a big conglomerate might tell you to eat it.

I'm betting we get the straight scoop from Planetside and I'd rather have everything working as opposed to bugs.  Then, Planetside can work on the animation module.  No sweat.  I can do something else in the meantime.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Butt Head!!

??? Are you calling me names?  ;)
Why Butthead? Why not Beavis, they're friends right?  :P

Anyways, even if they manage to get it released today, I can't try it. I have an animation running on one pc that will be running for another 600 hours atleast, and the other pc still isn't done with the final Parting Sea image...
(If that one doesn't make it to Image of the Week I don't know what will.  :P)

I can handle a few days more...
Howgh!

In case you missed my point? I never said anything about suing, someone else started that BS..  Basically , they (Planetside)  can do or say anything they want and don't have to live up to their promises. Of course you already know that Story.   ;)   Now I'm going to jump in the tub and enjoy an orange.  :D
