Some bits and bobs
The Galileo Fallacy, 'Argumentum ad Galileus':
"They laughed at Galileo. They're laughing at me. Therefore I am the next Galileo."

Nope. Galileo was right for the simpler reason that he was right.

You'll be just about the right guy to add a couple of special effects to this rather rudimentary render, Jim. Maybe animate the growing cracks along with a collapsing continents and a collapsing atmosphere and to compose some particles flying away from the surface. That would be really cool ;D

Probably a bit too much work to do just for fun....

Cheers,
Frank

Like in the latest Star Trek :)

Mr_Lamppost

Only just seen this but I have to lower the tone:

Frank's Advanced Cracks  Oh ah misses, say no more.

Visions of Frankie Howard, Kenneth Williams or more likely Sid James in some smutty 60s/70s Carry On come to mind.

Have you got a tgd of Barbra Windsor flashing her tits?  ;D

Seriously though nice work.   :-[
Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.

What the heck are you talking about?

He is referring to the possible lewd interpretation of "cracks", by mentioning a number of British comedians famed for their rather broad humour. Barbara Windsor featured in a number of the "Carry On" films, which specialised in this mildly smutty form.

FrankB

uh, ok, in this case the joke unfortunately was completely wasted on me  ;D
I don't know most british comedians by their name.

Thanks for the clarification anyway ;)

Don't worry Mr Lamppost, I got it  ;D

"FrankB's Advanced Cracks..... Ohhh Matron, Take them away" (in a Kenneth Williams voice) was the first thing that sprang into my rather sad brain when I read the topic title. Probably says a lot about the way my head works.... shame  :(

Anyway FrankB, many thanks for this, most excellent.  ;D

This has been a good way to start the morning.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

PorcupineFloyd

Doh, why didn't you post that a week earlier when I was making "Dreadnought" and "To The Wind" :D

I wouldn't have to blur the ugly foreground ;-)

No, honestly - that's a really fine surface! Thanks :)

rcallicotte

I had no idea this was here.  Lucky me that Cyphyr just pointed someone here recently.  COOL work, Frank and Thank You.

I've also added this function to the NWDA CS store, for a tiny fee. So if you feel like wanting to donate something for it, you can do it there: http://store.nwdanet.com
