just finished this one,
I did'nt render it at hi-quality, because I was'nt really considering it to be a final render or something like that.
(detail 0.5, AA 4, no gi)

i think the little islands in the foreground need some work, and I'm also working on lowering the displacement.

I really like the marshes - looks pretty convincing already, even at relatively low quality. Something about the trees isn't quite working - EDIT: I think it's the very strong colour contrast with the blue sky, so once you put clouds in that should be less of a problem.

The water needs to be a bit more transparent with something to look at under it. I would add more plant types, bushes mainly. It's a really good start.

Sky is too dark blue and you have "end of the world' syndrome - perhaps change the angle of your camera a bit?  or put something in the background for context?

And yes the trees look strange due to the above I think.  Nice concept tho, dont remember seeing a lot of marsh type images

I like it.   As far as the main scene, it would be cool to have a realistic bear just coming out of the water on the island with it's back at an angle to us.

The sky's color is somewhat subjective, depending on where someone lives.  If it rains here, the sky deepens in blue.  This is another changing occurrence.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

I like its simplicity too - the water is especially good - maybe some sense of depth is required, but that could be purely personal

Actually, I meant to say this is a Saltwater Marsh render.

Calico, you would be more likely to see alligators, birds, or fish from the location I'm basing this render off of.

I added a image map texture with displacements for the sand/mud, some more vegitation, palmetto trees/plants, & some fish beneath the surface of the water.

I'll show the next version soon.

I think the colours are excellent - overall the scene looks like something from the past or the future, and who is to say the colour of the sky would be exactly the same? :)

Edit: WOW! Marshes 2 looks amazing!

Zairyn Arsyn

Marsh 2 was yesterdays render, the sand texture was dry, but afterwards I found wet beach sand texture to replace it.

the sky was actually meant to be lighter shade of blue, with a greyish-blue on the horizon.

I have another version rendering at home, I'll post it when I get home.

The sand texture is awesome! This is just my opinion but I think a low denseish fog layer would gve this more of a marshy swampish feel.

Keep the good work coming, I want to see more ;D

Looks like somewhere in Africa. I would add some high cirrus clouds. Very light ridged clouds. It would help this image look less CG.

I did add clouds, but not in that render, they will be in the next version.

This is looking really good now.. I'd loose the tree in the water, or find one that looks like it would survive in the water. I might be completely wrong and these trees do grow in water. ::)

Looking pretty photo real though, good work.
Cheers, Simon.
I just need to tweak that texture a bit more...

RogueNZ

Im not sure if i like the new trees, and i dont think the lighter sky enhances anything. But thats just my opinion
