i decided to do a vetch render yesterday, here's the first version

did you scale the vetches up? Or did I mess up the original scaling?

I like how the trees vanish towards the back into the black night.

hehehe... its not a night render, the forest is just dense.

no you did'nt mess up, i scaled vetches up on purpose, well actually every object is scaled up

well, then I call this the most dense canopy ever ;-) Really didn´t think that this is a day render ;-)

Consider the dark side of our friend here.    I like it, but I think the trees may be too dense.

Ah, this must be Fangorn or Mirkwood, both described as being similarly dark even in broad day.

Consider the dark side of our friend here.    I like it, but I think the trees may be too dense.

i normally do my high resolution / final renders overnight, and do my quick development renders during the day, the last one was about 7hours- no GI, AA 5, detail 0.9

in the next version i increased the pine tree spacing a little bit and added marc's aspen tree, but with a different leaf to fit the scene...hehehe its dark too,

i'll post it in a few hours

for a little more variation in the grass i will add a second grass population, and possibly some bushes.

once i have have it perfected i'll render it at a higher resolution
