Start of the meteor shower this evening was very nice, for about half an hour. Then the cloud came and blotted it all away, shame. Maybe it'll clear up over the next night or two, hopefully later tonight...

Get out there when it's dark, folks! ::) :o 8)

* Couldn't see any other posts on this, sorry if I've missed it, I've been away a few days.

I haven't seen anything yet. For soccer training I was in a very clear area without much light-pollution (60km from nearest big city).
I'm back home now and there's very little to see right now :( Will check every now and then.

We have so many lights at night here in Binghamton, I think it's marvelous just to see the moon.

Beautiful show last night! I lay on the big rock on the green outside from about 2:30 until 3:30 for a lovely clear show.

Henry, I track the Moon every month, not scientifically of course, just for fun, I like to predict her arrival and patterns and whatnot(maybe it's some kind of male menstrual cycle. Maybe I'm just an airy-fairy, who knows? I love the Moon, though.  :D). I'd hate to live in the big city where I wouldn't see it.

Actually Binghamton is a small city. Americans have the false idea that more light equals more safety. Silly...

The city here isn't very large either, pop' is under 44,000. We live among the last houses on the very edge of the city, though, which is nice. Front of the house faces towards town and the humdrum but the view from the back, westward, is all green and rolling to the horizon. There's not much light pollution out the back.

A very historical, if lesser known, Scottish city. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perth,_Scotland

This looks like a nice place to live.

I got to see a few last night. Pretty cool.
They just issued a tornado warning and said to stay away from windows. Does that mean I can't use my computer?
