I should probably know better than to ask here, but you guys are objective...most of the time.  :)  Anyway, I'd like your opinions.

Is this a good package and / or what have you heard about it?  A lot has changed in a year.

I had the same email. The price is tempting. I, however, like Terragen 2's interface and flexibility. Vue does too much of the set up for you. If you get down into how the objects and terrain setup is done, that's when the program gets buggy. At least this is what I found in the Vue 7 free trail version.
I think the pioneer version might be ok, for this price. I am sticking with Terragen 2.

Thanks njeneb.  I saw 7 as a buggy step, but have heard better things about version 8.

If I had more cash available I would grab a copy of one of the less expensive versions. More software is always better. There is so much to learn with Terragen 2; it has kept me addicted for a long time. Most games loose their appeal in a month or so.

I completely understand.  Assassin's Creed is the only game (games - 1 and 2) I have found lasts adequately for the amount of money I paid, though version 2 got a little weird at the end.  The game play is amazing.
