This is coming on well. Might want to play around with the atmosphere a little, depending on what you're looking for, misty or strong detail, by thining it out or thickening, but definately add more samples. Also, I think you'll be able to do quite a bit with this in post.

The landscape, mountain erosion, water, beach and clouds are very convincing.

The next iteration. I added some snow on the mountains and changed up the foreground a bit. I don't think I like the clearer sky as much so I'll have to tweak that some.

The fog looks great. I do not know the sun/horizon angle you are using. But I think the side of the lake where the sun is striking the fog can be thinner.

I agree about version 2; but, if you include the foreground of 3, I think you'll be on the road to completion. The fog would be a nice element if the sun were a bit lower; and, if it were made thinner.

Next one! New aspect ratio, new lighting and a new atmosphere. I like the mood in this one better than in previous versions, though I may increase the amount of cloud cover to darken the mood somewhat. I think the foreground is a step backwards but finals week hasn't allowed me to play with it as much as I would like.

I never thought I would say this, the image is now a little too dark. Increasing the GI enviro light would help.

These are all really great.  My personal preference is without question the second one you posted.  I love the light clouds and hazy atmosphere, and the texturing on the mountains just seems far more realistic to me than the snow peaks on the recent ones.  I like the camera position on the third version best, but I don't care too much for the reeds.  Perhaps some very tiny very sparce plants might work better for foreground detail.

Agreed. Perhaps, as Ryan suggested, some small plants or grass clumps. Or a washed ashore tree trunk...

Did you try to render scene #2 with high details ? (e.g detail = 1, AA = 5)

Thank you all for the suggestions! Hopefully I'll be able to get you a new one tomorrow; moving back home for college break has taken longer than I had hoped.

@ Onyx: All of these have been rendered with the following settings:
Detail: .9
AA: 6 (MN)
GI: 2/2
Raytraced bojects/atmo enabled

The reason the most recent one is darker is because I tweaked the contrast too much compared to the earlier versions.

Hi everybody, I'm sorry I havent gotten around to updating this yet. The area where I live has been seeing some rough weather and the power has been out for most of the past week. Hopefully (fingers crossed) I'll be able to get the latest, and possibly final version posted sometime tomorrow.
