If you download CINEBENCH 11.5 from here
http://www.maxon.net/?id=1258 you can benchmark your current system. You need to do this otherwise the scores don't mean very much!
The Mac Pro's 2012 are almost identical to the 2010 Mac Pros. Same GPUs slightly different CPU configurations in some models.
My opinion is that they are a huge disappointment. You have to pay 2012 prices for 2009 / 2010 technology, not a compelling proposition.
4-Core model will be no better than a BTO Quad-Core i7 iMac, but a lot more expensive and with no screen.
6-Core model will scale with the number of cores to give a CINEBENCH CPU score of around 9.
12-Core models should give scores between 12 and 17.
On the other hand the MacBook Pros have bang upto date technology in a design that no Windows Laptop maker seems able to match and at very competitive pricing compared to the windows world for the same spec.
In particular, the new MacBook Pros with Retina display looks very interesting.
Apple are selling off a number of the 2011 17-Inch models in the Refurb section of there store.
These will have CINEBENCH 11.5 scores of around 5.35 - 5.5 and would appear to offer good value for money.
They also get good prices second hand should you need to upgrade at some stage.
iMacs and Mac Minis will probably be updated when Apple release Mountain Lion sometime in July.
