Need a little help on object visibility

I thought I was making progress but---

The attached file has several population objects. I've disabled all except the hazel tree. The preview box shows the preview color  but I cannot seem to get it to display. I'm not getting any errors concerning it when it is opened.

I have no doubt that I've done something wrong and would appreciate finding out what.

Terragen doesn't load textures from LWO files. Use the OBJs or better yet the TGOs. Avoid LWO if at all possible (generally speaking, not just for Terragen), it's an old, outdated, and poorly supported format.

Maybe we should dump the lwo reader from objects and populations?

I wouldn't be opposed to it. If nothing else then at least a warning that it doesn't support loading of textures and recommendation to use alternate formats if possible.
